Touchscreen PCs and Monitors
Touchscreen PCs and monitors provide a fun and fast way for users to access your home. HomeTroller is shipped with a basic touchscreen interface and supports other professional grade interface packages.
In-Wall "Scene" Controllers
HomeTroller is designed to work with push-button "scene" controllers from many manufacturers based on hard-wired, wireless and powerline technologies. Buttons can be easily configured to control devices, lighting scenes or to execute automation 'events'.
Microsoft Windows Media Center (MCE)
Are you using Microsoft Windows Media Center? If so, HomeTroller's optional MCE interface will allow you to control your home using only your Media Center remote control! Now, rooms, devices and automation events may all be controlled through Media Center!
Remote and Local Web Control
HomeTroller includes a complete web-based interface that may be accessed by any PC connected to your home network or to the internet. With it, you can monitor and control your home from anywhere in the world!
Voice Control by Microphone and Telephone
HomeTroller is the ONLY consumer hardware controller available designed to work with voice recognition! Support is included for open air room microphones (like the VoiceTracker™), headsets and via telephone with a Way2Call Hi-Phone interface).
Wireless Remote Control
Attach an infrared interface and the HomeTroller may be controlled by conventional infrared remotes. RF remotes designed for use in Z-Wave and X10 networks are also supported.
PDA / PocketPC Control
HomeTroller includes a built-in web server and special web interface for small browser-enabled devices like PDAs and PocketPCs; perfect for travelers and vacationers wishing to monitor and control their homes remotely!
Reliability
HomeTroller was designed to be the most reliable home automation controller available. The unit features HSProtect™ to guard the embedded operating system from harm and HSSentry™ to reset the unit in the event of any hardware or software problems.
Web Based Management
The system is managed using any web browser. This allows for easy configuration on or off site. Remote access to the unit offers the ability to remotely manage the unit without making a trip to the site. Easily add/change schedules, or troubleshoot issues.
Mechanical Design
HomeTroller has a very small footprint (9.25” wide x 7” deep x 2” high) and can installed or mounted in a variety of locations.
Energy Efficiency
HomeTroller is very energy efficient, consuming just 10 watts of power under normal operation!
Customizable Software
The system software is totally customizable, including the user interface. An API (Application Programming Interface Specification) is available that allows for the creation of custom software “plug-ins”. These plug-ins allow the software to be extended to support custom hardware. The system also includes a scripting interface that supports the popular scripting languages such as VBScript, JavaScript, and Perl. Scripts are a quick way to add custom functionality such as complex if-then-else logic, or for sending binary or ASCII text to a serial port. The user interface and custom interfaces are built or modified using simple web (HTML) technologies.

About the System Restore Flash
Our optional system restore flash may be used to restore HomeTroller to its original factory configuration.
Simply boot the unit with the flash attached and it will reformat the hard drive, re-install Window XP emedded onto the C drive and write-protect the operating system partition.
In addition, it will reinstall the factory-shipped version of HomeSeer HS2+ on a writable D partition.
